Planning for a New Sanctuary
These
drawings represent a dream for a vehicle for our ministry to the surrounding
community. They have become a reality only because God is willing and
generous members have provided the hands and the funds.
Funding &
Planning
The membership of the church voted unanimously to move ahead with the building at a an all-church charge
conference on March 17, 2005. A final vote was taken when final
bids and financial plans were in place. Ground-breaking
occurred in July 2006 and we occupied the new building in May 2007.
Our first worship service was held
on May 20, 2007 and "Open House" tours were held on Sundays June 10, 17 and 21. A Consecration Service was held on
September 23, with invitations extended to all past members and contributors.
We
are continuing a
funding campaign for debt retirement and other support for the building;
pledges
are continually being collected. Please prayerfully
consider the time, talents and financial resources that you could
contribute, and complete the attached form and return it in the offering
plate or to the Financial Secretary in the church office.
How
can I help?
Our
purpose is to spread the Good News, not to make ourselves more
comfortable. So the things we need to do to prepare for a building
project are the same things we should
already be doing to carry out our mission as a church:
- Love Jesus, love each other, make disciples;
- Pray
for wisdom and provision;
- Reach
out to welcome those who are seeking and needy;
- Give
generously of your time, talents and finances to God
Members
of the Building Committee will be happy to talk with you about your
ideas
and questions: Ray Barnes, Bob Wormald, Dave & Chris Jarvis, Rick
Friend, James Tarleton, Debbie & Mark Smelser. Call us or email the Building Team.
