Minute - The Thapa's in Nepal
As
part of Missions Month at Christ UMC, we will be highlighting one
missionary or ministry each week during October through the Mid-Week
Musings. Below is an update from Sundar and Sareeta Thapa who serve
in Nepal. As you read their update, please remember them in prayer
as they share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who are lost without
hearing it.
Sundar
and Sareeta Thapa have been in ministry for 27 years.
* Sundar is the founder and president of Evangelical Christian
Fellowship
* He supervises 150 churches
* He sponsors 175 gospel missionaries in the field
* Oversees four children's homes in four different locations
* Trains leaders in Bible College
* Sareeta is a well known Christian leader in Nepal
* She is the president of the Nepal Bible College
* She leads several prayer meetings and seminars
* She teaches Family Seminars twice annually
Besides all of the above, Sareeta and Sundar have two biological children:
Benjamin, age 13 and Andreas, age 10. The have two legally adopted
children: Diraj, in his 20's, and Sarai, approx. 18 or 19 and married.
They have also welcomed many other children into their home who were not
legally adopted but in need of a family and a place to live.
Prayer requests are as follows:
-- for wisdom and knowledge from above to carry on the tasks
God has given
-- for ten thousand believers in the northern area of
Katmandu within 5 years
-- for sponsorship of children and trainees in the college
