Disaster Relief

Christ Church has a heart for Missions.  Missions at here are ministries outside of our congregation on local, national and international levels to fulfill the Great Commission.  We do this in a variety of ways: evangelism, discipleship, church development, education and the direct participation of our members.

We currently sponsor missionaries in countries such as Nepal, Ghana, Bangladesh, Germany and The Netherlands.  We also support a variety of missions here in the United States by providing support for a number of organizations.  Here in Frederick, we support the work of the Religious Coalition for Emergency Needs, CareNet Crisis Pregnancy Center, Central Maryland Youth for Christ, Young Life, the Frederick Rescue Mission, and many other wonderful ministries.

The family of Christ UMC takes seriously its  mandate to bring Christ’s message of salvation to the world.  Members of our body have served in Panama, Bosnia, Romania, Kenya, Greece, Ghana, Lithuania, Anguila, The Netherlands, China, Mexico, and the Bahamas as well as North and South Carolina, Arkansas, Alaska, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Michigan.  And World Changers is underway!

Missions is more than an emphasis or a program for our church family.  It is a way of life that engages every member, every small group, every time of worship and prayer in the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Our active Missions Committee uses their budget to support Christ’s work locally and globally.   Members of our Body have served with missions on five continents.  The people of Christ UMC are around the world and just next door; serving the Lord and answering God’s call.
