Subject: Thank you very much!

Dear Dave,
Thank you very much for your email and for supporting our work in Berlin with your church. This is a big encouragement to us, to Konstantin and me, and the start-team. Your gift and commitment comes in a time when we see God faithfully providing for our ministry after we had some problems to get the fundraising going in the beginning. Therefore, we truly feel that your decision is an answer to prayer and we are happy that God has led you this way.

I am sorry that it took me a couple of days to respond to your email. We are currently in NY again for 10 days to meet with supporters and attend a church planters conference of Redeemer and there were many things to urgently finish before flying over.

Two days ago Konstantin and I had lunch with Jenny. It was fun to see her again. It is really neat to see that she is so involved in Germany and with Germans. Her German is truly excellent. I was glad we were able to meet before she flies out today.

The work in Berlin is step by step progressing as you might have read in our last news letter from past Sunday. I am really grateful for the days we have here in NY right now because it gives me the opportunity to talk with friends who are standing in a similar work – to exchange ideas and to share in each others motivation and passion. In Berlin we are basically alone in the specific field we are standing. And it is incredible how easy the demands of every day ongoings can block you from thinking big picture, keeping focused on the vision 100% and in all details and all that. In this regard those conversations with friends that share a similar work are worth millions. It’s just a sharpening and re-orientation that constantly has to take place since especially right now in the early months where we are building the base for the new church each little deviation from the intended vision and direction will play out big time later...And many decisions we have to make can not be made on the basis of some text book but only on the basis of our/God’s clear focus for the future. Therefore we are really happy for being back for these 10 days.

I might be in Washington some time later this year or, more likely, some time next year. I would really like to get to know you personally at that occasion. Also, please know, that you are always very welcome in Berlin.

God bless you and thank you again for your support.
We will continue to inform you on the progress of our work.

Many greetings,
Christian
