Frequently
Asked Questions: |
|
|
Where
did you grow up? |
|
|
|
I grew up in Central Maryland.
For most of my formative years we lived in Finksburg and spent the bulk of
our time in Westminster and the rest of Carroll County. It was a great
place to grow up. It was close enough to larger cities if we needed
to get there, but it still had the flavor of the country.

How
did you become a Christian? |
|
|
|
My mother accepted Christ when my
sister and I were still in elementary school. She became very
concerned that we hear the Gospel story of Jesus’ life, death and
resurrection, but as a new Christian was unsure how to go about it.
She followed a friend’s advice and sent both of us to a Christian summer
camp.
The first night at camp I heard the preacher present the Good News and
new immediately that Jesus was what was missing in my life. When the
invitation was given, I went forward right away.

Why
did you enter the ministry? |
|
|
|
A few summers later, back at that
same summer camp, I received a clear call from God to full-time Christian
service. During evening worship, the preacher gave a very specific
call for anyone feeling a led to the ministry to come forward. Once
again, I left my seat and went down front. I felt an obvious and
powerful tug on my heart to respond and knew that God had claimed me for
ministry. I was 11 years old.
Throughout high school I explored other careers and interests but I
always came back to that first calling that God placed upon my life.

Do
you have a family? |
|
|
|
Yes. My wife Carol and I met in
College and have been married for thirteen years. We have two boys;
J.W. and Joshua. I have been blessed with a wonderful family and
they are the joy of my life.

|
What
motivates you for the ministry? |
|
|
|
First and foremost I recognize the
difference that Christ has made in my own life and I want others to
experience that same salvation and peace. There is no greater joy
than living as a child of the Risen Jesus.
Also, I enjoy the opportunity to teach and learn from my Christian
brothers and sisters. It is extremely rewarding to watch God’s
Church grow in its trust and faith in Jesus. I truly believe that
the world can be changed by the power of Christ. I have been blessed
in my years of ministry to see that change begin – one person at a time.

What
do you like to do in your "free" time? |
|
|
|
When I am not spending time with my wife or playing with
my boys I enjoy reading, music and playing guitar. I also cycle and
play sports (basketball, volleyball and baseball).
